Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant by dischemgroup

For its TLC Voortrekker shop, Dis-Chem Pharmacies needs a reliable Post Basic Qualify Pharmacist Assistant. By assuming ownership of the patient’s medication-related requirements and accepting responsibility for addressing them, you will be providing pharmaceutical care as part of your portfolio.

Minimum Conditions

Basic Pharmacist Assistance qualification and Grade 12 or Matric; registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)

having worked at Unisolv
Knowledgeable with MS Office
good numerical abilities
both a second language and a strong knowledge of the English language
able and willing to work retail hours

Knowledge of Third Additional Language and Retail/FMCG operations
expertise with or knowledge of SAP and E-Scripting

Responsibility and Tasks

assist in the selling of Medication  under Schedules 1 and 2
Assist in the production, manipulation, or compounding of a non-sterile medication or other scheduled substance in accordance with a recipe and standard operating procedures that the competent pharmacist has authorized.

assist in the distribution and management of the stock of medication or other scheduled substances from Schedule 1 through Schedule 5

Assist with the ordering of medications and substances listed in Schedules up to and including Schedule 6 in accordance with a request from a person permitted under the Medicines Act to buy or get such medication or substance.
Help in reading and preparing a prescription; choosing, modifying, or compounding the medication; labeling and supplying the medication in an appropriate container once a pharmacist has interpreted and evaluated the prescription.
In line with the SAPC, accurately read scripts, behave in a professional and responsible manner, and adhere to the law.

Make sure you appropriately record script information and check the system for patient information.

Be sure to choose, pack, label, and check your medications accurately. You should also be aware of standard doses and significant medicine interactions.
Clearly explain to patients how to utilize the medication that has been provided.
Keep up with any changes to the claims and dispensing regulations, as well as medical aid processes.

Ensure that a pharmacist reviews and signs off on the correctness of all prescriptions.
Consult with and help patients at the front desk, the dispensary, and self-medication
Script tracking report follow-up with patients as asked by the dispensary manager, as well as appointment follow-up
Patients should be informed of medical aid charges.
