Position Specifications

For its Hemmingways shop, Dis-Chem Pharmacies must hire a reputable pharmacist. Your portfolio will include the provision of pharmaceutical care by accepting accountability for the requirements of patients linked to medications.

Minimum Conditions

Grade 12 or Matric BPharm or an equivalent degree
having a South African Pharmacy Council registration (SAPC)

experienced registered tutor with Unisolv
knowledge of staff supervision
Knowledgeable with MS Office
good numerical abilities
both a second language and a strong knowledge of the English language

preferable

Experience in relevant retail or FMCG
Knowledge of a third extra language for SAP

expertise with e-scripting

responsibilities and obligations

Pharmaceutical care is provided by accepting accountability for patients’ medication-related requirements and fulfilling those needs, which includes, but is not limited to, the following duties:
assessing a patient’s medication requirements by establishing the therapy’s indication, safety, and efficacy
In line with the SAPC, accurately read scripts, behave in a professional and responsible manner, and adhere to all applicable laws.

correcting script flaws that led to medical aid rejection
distributing any medication or controlled drug on a doctor’s order from a licensed physician
giving any individual guidance and information on the usage of drugs

assessing the patient’s compliance with the treatment and doing follow-ups to make sure the patient’s medication needs are being fulfilled
the administration of treatment started by a pharmacist
Compounding, manipulating, preparing, or packing any drug or controlled substance, or the oversight of such

the production of any drug or controlled substance, or the management of such production
The procurement, acquisition, importation, maintenance, use, release, storage, packing, repackaging, provision, sale, or control of any pharmaceutical or controlled substance
the request for a medicine’s registration under the Pharmacy Act and the Medicines Act
Keep up with changes to medical aid policies, including those pertaining to claims and prescriptions.

Follow-up consultations with patients and script tacking reports as directed by the dispensary manager
Inform patients of any medical assistance expenses
Complete all documents to ensure that medical aid claims are submitted accurately.

Make sure that all chronic, HIV/AIDS, and oncology medications are authorized.
upkeep of client profiles on the platform
Local profile merging should be done, and UCS should be informed to combine profiles centrally.
Observe any messages on the customer profile and respond appropriately.
Report low and out-of-stock levels, as well as stock mistakes, to the dispensary manager.
