A Senior Legal Advisor is needed to work in our Claremont, Cape Town, legal department. This is a fantastic opportunity.

Responsibilities
Senior Legal Advisor closely collaborating with the CEO to comprehend the Group’s plan and spot any possible risks or problems;
aid in the documentation of procedures and policies to ensure the Group is run efficiently;
being in charge of detecting legal risk and compliance, as well as making sure that these are implemented and maintained properly;
writing lease agreements, addenda cession and transfer of leases, renewal of lease agreements, etc. after receiving instructions;
Participate in the leasing process. managing tenant arrears, the legal procedure, a settlement proposal, and arrears collection;
Commercial real estate contract drafting and evaluation within the Group
oversee the signing of purchase and sale agreements, as well as the transfer of residential, commercial, and sectional title properties.
Legal contracts are drafted and reviewed.
creating legal counsel based on reliable legal research;
Contacting lawyers for advice on any legal issues, including real estate transactions;
Fibre installation agreements and other IT-based contracts (such as high site agreements), shareholder agreements, service level agreements, and other pertinent contracts must be drafted;
modifying or upgrading current agreements to make sure they adhere to the most recent regulations and operational needs;
managing tenant arrears and/or collections, including the formulation and execution of summonses and rent interdicts as well as the issue of letters of demand.
Managing the various stages of litigation, settlement proposals, and High Court work, including briefing Advocates and Attorneys, and carefully supervising the Group’s vast portfolio of debt collection for its clients.
Keep up with any changes to the legal, tax, and corporate governance systems in South Africa and throughout the world.
Donate your technical expertise to the Community Schemes Ombud Service Act rules or other suggested modifications to the law.
Inform management of legislative changes and their implementation;
external communications and marketing materials are reviewed (including website and disclaimers)
if necessary, appearing in person at the Master’s office, Deeds office, CSOS, CCMA, and City of Cape Town
Filling up jotforms once contracts are signed to guarantee that customers are billed accurately
Scan documents, save them to Google Drive, and record the most important information on a tracking sheet
ensuring the signing and follow-through of contracts.

Prerequisites
Education and experience
degree in LLB admitted to the bar
An advantage of a qualified conveyancer
3 and more years of comparable experience in a legal or business setting
Experience in conveyancing and real estate is useful
Experience in commercial drafting is advantageous

At Claremont, we provide barista-produced coffee to all of our employees all day long.
The typical working day is from 8 a.m. to 17 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a 45-minute lunch break. The firm permits workers to work flextime between 7:00 and 18:00, with the direct manager’s agreement.
In Claremont, across from Cavendish, Faircape provides a market-related pay starting at R 50 000.00 Cost to the Company each month in their conveniently situated, contemporary offices. The compensation package will rely on the candidate’s credentials, prior work experience, and other market-related elements.
